Everton boss David Moyes has rejected suggestions that Simon Davies could be on his way to Fulham.
The Welsh midfielder was left out of Everton's squad for their 4-1 FA Cup defeat to Blackburn on Sunday, fuelling talk of a potential transfer to The Cottagers.
Davies has failed to secure a regular place on Merseyside this season and is reputedly one of a number of players that Chris Coleman is considering as he looks to strengthen his squad following the sale of Luis Boa Morte.
However Moyes has now poured cold water on talk of Davies leaving Goodison, with the Scot insisting that nothing should be read into his decision to rest the former Tottenham man.
"There is nothing in that at all," Moyes told the club's official website.
"I wanted James Vaughan in the side and wanted to get him involved.
"I chose not to use Simon because we also needed a defender in view of the fact Nuno Valente had been suffering from a hamstring problem."
