David Thompson insists he has not been demanding showdown talks with Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp.
Since joining Pompey on a free transfer from Wigan Athletic last summer, Thompson has started just five Premiership games.
The midfielder was thought to be considering his future at Fratton Park and was ready to discuss his situation with Redknapp.
But while Thompson acknowledged his frustration, he is determined to force his way into Pompey's first team on a regular basis.
"There was some stuff in the papers, but it never came from me," Thompson told Sky Sports News.
"I never had showdown talks with Harry, I don't know where it's come from.
"It has been a little frustrating, but I have got to bide my time and my chances will come."
Thompson could earn a start on Saturday when Portsmouth face his former club Wigan in the third round of the FA Cup.
