David Beckham has given the clearest indication yet that he is keen to commit his future to Real Madrid.
The former England captain has been deliberating over whether to accept a new deal at the Bernabeu after finding himself marginalised under new boss Fabio Capello, and is currently allowed to speak to potential suitors as his contract expires in the summer.
Serie A leaders Internazionale have been widely linked with a swoop for the 31-year-old but further talks with Real are planned after Los Merengues tabled an improved contract offer.
Now Beckham has hinted that he may agree to stay with the nine-time European Cup winners as his family are settled in the Spanish capital.
"We had a conversation last season to renew the contract but the president changed, then the coach," Beckham told Futbolista.
"There's been a lot of changes and it was necessary to return to speak but it is a matter that will be solved in just a short time.
"That is something very difficult to say but what I know clearly is that my family are very happy in Madrid and at Real Madrid.
"For me, more important than football, my concern is the happiness of my family."
