Bolton are ready to make Tal Ben Haim an 'offer he cannot refuse' in the hope of keeping the defender at The Reebok Stadium.
Ben Haim has six months remaining on the contract he signed when he joined the club from Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2004.
The Israeli stopper has become a major figure in the Bolton defence and manager Sam Allardyce is keen to tie him to a new long-term deal.
As yet no agreement has been reached and the likes of Portsmouth and Chelsea are reported to be ready to pounce.
However, Bolton chairman Phil Gartside is hopeful of securing the 24-year-old's services with an irresistible offer.
"We've been talking to Tal for quite a while," Gartside told the club's official website.
"We'll make him an offer he cannot refuse."
