Rafael Marquez insists he has had the best year of his career with Barcelona.
The Mexican defender is pleased with the confidence given to him by manager Frank Rijkaard, and wishes for more of the same next year.
Marquez also praises the team for their performances in 2006 and commends the atmosphere at the club.
He told Televisa Deportes: "I am very satisfied and proud of the success I have had this season. Without doubt this has been the best year of my career.
"At this moment I can only sing the praises of the coach Frank Rijkaard and hope that the same thing will happen in 2007."
Marquez also gave advice to new Mexican coach Hugo Sanchez insisting he will have to unite the latest cycle of players in order to bring success.
"This is a new cycle of players and the coach can begin from zero. The coach will have to unite the team," he said.
