Boca Juniors have rejected an offer from Barcelona for striker Rodrigo Palacio.
The Catalan giants were reported to have bid in the region of €19million (£12.7million) for the Argentinian international.
Boca president Mauricio Macri met with Barcelona officials this week while in Spain concluding Fernando Gago's move to Real Madrid.
However, Macri will not be allowing Palacio to leave Boca in the foreseeable future and says only a massive bid will tempt them into selling.
"The big news for us is that he will stay because another exit would be very negative for the club," Macri told Telam.
"For Palacio we will have to receive the biggest offer in the world because for me he is the best forward in Argentina."
Palacio, who was part of Argentina's World Cup squad in the summer, has a contract with Boca until 2010.
