Arturo Lupoli has suggested he could stay at Pride Park, if Derby County clinch promotion to the Premiership.
The Italian striker is spending the season on loan from Arsenal and is also out of contract with The Gunners next summer.
He has intimated at a return to his homeland, while he also revealed that five major clubs have been tracking his progress.
However, should The Rams end a five-year exile from the top flight, then Lupoli could be tempted into signing a permanent deal with the club.
"I really want to get promoted with this team," Lupoli told the Derby Evening Telegraph.
"I think we have a great opportunity and, if we do it, I will be looking forward to staying for some more years with Derby.
"It's a great club with great players. If we get promoted, it will be even better.
"I just hope to keep enjoying playing and we'll see what happens at the end of the season."
Meanwhile, David Jones - on loan to Derby from Manchester United - is looking forward to the busy Christmas programme.
Jones said: "Before I came to Derby I had not been used to playing every game, but I have no problems getting up for the matches.
"I want to play every game and be the first name on the team sheet, I have not come to Derby to be a fringe player."
