Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness has again told Manchester United to forget about signing England midfielder Owen Hargreaves in the January transfer window.
Hargreaves is battling back from a broken leg sustained in mid-September and Hoeness says that Bayern are not interested in banking a transfer fee that they would be unable to utilise until the summer.
He told Bayern's official club website: "Nothing's going to happen in the winter break.
"We face Real Madrid in the Champions League, so we're not about to deliberately weaken our team. We're not a bank, we're a football club.
"Our top priority is to strengthen the team, so what use to me is another 30 million in the bank?
"We want to do well in the Champions League and we want to reel in Werder Bremen and Schalke in the league and we need Owen Hargreaves for that.
"If we ever thought we'd found a replacement for Owen who cost less than we'd get for him, we might be prepared to think about it."
