Everton have finally signed Brazil midfielder Anderson de Silva on a short-term deal.
The Toffees originally agreed to sign the 24-year-old from Uruguayan side National Montevideo in 2005 but the move hit a snag when it was revealed de Silva did not have an EU passport.
De Silva was loaned out to Spanish sides Racing Santander and Malaga while the issue was resolved and the midfielder will now join up with his new team-mates in January.
"We have resolved the immigration issue and he has joined the club," Everton's chief executive Keith Wyness told the club's official website.
