Everton have confirmed they will submit a formal complaint to The Football Association following criticism of Andrew Johnson by Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho questioned Johnson's integrity during Chelsea's win over Everton on Sunday, with the Portuguese coach suggesting the forward dived during the first half at Goodison Park.
The comments prompted a swift response from Everton chief David Moyes and Johnson said on Monday he was disappointed by Mourinho's statement.
Everton stated they wanted The FA to look into Mourinho's comments and they have now confirmed a formal complaint will be submitted to Soho Square.
Toffees spokesman Ian Ross said: "We will now make a formal complaint to The FA over Jose Mourinho's remarks regarding Andrew Johnson."
