Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger remains hopeful of agreeing a new deal to keep Jens Lehmann at the club.
Lehmann's current deal expires at the end of the season and he could leave the club for nothing in the summer.
Spanish side Sevilla are thought to be monitoring Lehmann's contract situation and could move to try and bring him to La Liga.
However, Wenger is determined to keep the German international at Emirates Stadium and plans talks with Lehmann in the New Year.
"Jens is 37 and at some stage you have to sit down with him and discuss his future and whether he wants one year or two years - but we go from year to year," said Wenger.
"It is the same with a goalkeeper and we will not be offering him two years.
"The solution is that we will sit down over the end of January, start of February and start to sort out his future."
Lehmann admits he is unsure what his future holds.
"We have to wait and see," said Lehmann.
"I like it here and so do my family, but we will just have to wait and see what happens."
