CHELSEA goal machine Didier Drogba last night taunted Manchester United as he told the Old Trafford side: "You know we're going to be champions."
Drogba's stunning late winner at Everton turned the heat up on Sir Alex Ferguson and his team, who promptly slumped to a shock defeat at West Ham.
t saw United's Premiership lead slashed to just two points and Drogba claimed even Fergie's players would know they had blown their chance of denying the Blues a third straight crown.
Drogba said: "I know we have shown we have what it takes to be champions again, and I think Manchester United know it too.
"They would have been thinking at one stage on Sunday the gap was going to be eight points.
"But now it's only two and I believe this was the most crucial day of the championship race.
"Of course there are many games to go, many matches to be played and many points to be won or lost. Now though, we have the psychological advantage.
"United can see we are there, right behind them, and we are ready to be champions again."
Buoyant Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho added: "When other teams were having bad moments last season and things were perfect for us, they were 12-15 points behind us.
"This season we are having bad moments but are much closer."
