Former West Ham boss Alan Pardew believes he deserved more time at the helm of the Premiership strugglers prior to his sacking last week.
Pardew was shown the door by new Hammers chairman Eggert Magnusson seven days ago, but the sacked manager felt the move to replace him with Alan Curbishley was too rash.
"I think I maybe deserved a bit more than that," Pardew told Sky Sports News.
"He offered me 'mutual consent' but I wasn't going to accept that because I thought I could turn things around."
However, despite his sacking, Pardew believes the Hammers are in safe hands following the appointment of Curbishley.
"There are a lot of things that are going to work for Curbs at West Ham," he continued.
"He's going to inherit a great squad, he's got money in the transfer window and he's got Dean Ashton coming back."
