Newcastle United will be handed their first trophy in 37 years when they are presented with the 2006 Intertoto Cup.
The Magpies have won the honour by virtue of being the last surviving side in the UEFA Cup that entered the pre-season European tournament.
Newcastle haven't won any silverware since the 1969 Fairs Cup but are expected to be presented with the Intertoto Cup before their next UEFA Cup home match against Belgian side Zulte-Waregem in February.
"We will be very happy to receive it," said Magpies boss Glenn Roeder. "It would be disrespectful to consider it a lesser tournament, as some managers do.
"This is a little bit of a reward for the boys who had to come back on 26 June to play in the competition."
