Chelsea chief Jose Mourinho has admitted he wants more from Andrei Shevchenko, but the Portuguese does expect the striker to deliver.
Shevchenko arrived at Stamford Bridge from Milan in the summer, but he has so far failed to live up to his £30.8 million price tag.
His efforts have been overshadowed by strike partner Didier Drogba and Mourinho admits he is expecting more from Shevchenko.
"He is a good player," Mourinho told ChelseaTV. "Everybody wants more from him
"I want more from him, he wants more from himself.
"Sheva is in the headlines because he is the player he is. I think in a couple of months he will be the top scorer ever in the history of European football, so he will be in the headlines for that."
Mourinho feels Shevchenko's return of seven goals this term is not that bad, but expects the Ukrainian to improve.
"He has been at Chelsea three months and has scored seven goals in all competitions. Is it bad? I don't think that.
"If in six months and he is on 14 or 20 goals, is that bad? I don't think it is bad."Scoring 7 goals in 3mths isn't bad for other strikers but for Shevchenko, it's quite bad.
