Oh! Ah! No..........I thought thread tio deleted...........
I hope the driver gets a heavy penalty.
At least 15 years jail. And we must also educate our younger generation. Be careful when crossing the road.
horrible.
gruesome.
do not see the pix if u are not ready.
Jail is not enough..........
Himself ride a bicycle and let a cement truck run over.........

many times cyclists just speed thru the green man in juctions n accidents can happen
haizz haizz, anyway, very hard to find any photos liao....
ur link doesn't load :o
Very sad story....like many other accidents.
At this point it doesnt matter who's at fault.....it only reminds us that pedestrians/cyclists never win at such incidents.
supposed to dismount and push bicycle across rite?
Cant imagine how many sleepless nights for the truck driver.
Saw from some comments on CNA that some people saw them dashing across the road. Not sure how true it is...
im curious how the bodies are handled in such a situation after the accident
i drive a small car.. bloody carefully when i approach any place where there are pedestrians because there are a lot of people who are either oblivious to everything around them with earphones plugged in, mobile phone zombies, or think they are protected by an impregnable force field
even today, a bicycle going against the flow of traffic almost hit my car when i was stationary at a side road trying to get onto the main road..
sometimes, it's not the driver of a vehicle.. it's the other people who use the roads who cause their own deaths/injuries
this particular accident aside. i have on numerous occasions saw kids dashing across the traffic junction just because the green man was on. most, if not all didnt even bother to check for oncoming traffic.

oh...you remind me of a time when i was almost knocked down by sliver car..it was raining.
no 1. enemy of drivers are cyclists.
i think shd be taxi drivers, then motorbikers, then cyclists.
These 2 boys are too young to be blamed even if they were in the wrong.
However cyclists especially those in cycling groups or 'racers or riders' whatever you term them, they are a major road hazard.
Don't mistake me, they have a right to ride on the road and be given space. The problem starts when they can't decide whether to be cyclists or pedestrians?
How often do you see them cycling and then at a red light use the pedestrian crossing to get out infront?
How many times do you see them riding alongside 1 another?
How many times have you seen them beat a red light or try to squeeze in between buses or vehicles like motor-cycles?
How many times have you seen them try to overtake a stationary bus at a bus stop or vehicle on the right, instead of waiting?
How many times have you seen them ride fast around corners bends and uneven roads like those on Bt Timah and Upp Bt Timah?
If cyclists at large don't want to be safety conscious and think they are made of metal, these kind of accidents will always occur.
But for young children, there's no excuse, drivers must always be conscious of them and their tendency to dash. Dead slow at junctions is now a must for all drivers
