you're back alive..
Cycling on the road is dangerous as well as an eyesore especially when I'm driving on busy roads. Imagine they cycle on the middle of the road and I have to switch lane somemore.
On pavements, when pedestrians like me have an authority on how and where I want to walk, I find it horribly irritating to be ringed ringed only to hear the cyclist say: "Excuse me lehhhh".
bicycle or whatever number of wheels the cycle has, is a mode of transportation - a vehicle, so yes, cycle on the road but do be careful
Simple rule of the thumb;
If you cycling on the road, behave like a polite motorcyclist:
- keep to your lane (that is the left most side of the road unless you want to turn right)
- check before you filter left or right, don't assume
- never 'double-park' or 'double-cycle'
- hv lights on to increase safety
- wear safety helmets
- follow traffic rules such as stopping when there is a red light, going when there is a green light.
- cycle ALONG the flow of the traffic not against.
- remember that whether or not the car/motorcyclist have the right of way, they CAN kill you.
If you are cycling on pavement, behave like a polite pedestrian:
- low LOW speed (else cars don't expect you zooming across zebra crossings when you are not there 2 mins ago!)
- if someone is in front of you, slow down, say excuse me before you overtake. Do you HORN/RING the BELL when you walk on the pedestrian if you are walking fast and expect people to 'siam'?
- follow pedestrian safety: STOP when there is REd man, Go when there is green man, STOP and check before you cross any roads.
- slow down in places where there is heavy human traffic.Remember that pedestrians have the right of way.
All the problems occur when bicyclists don't behave appropriately where they are. Like double cycling and CHIT CHATTING while cycling on main roads!! Or zoooming along the pedestrian pavement!

no idea!
like i said, as i'm a cyclist, pedestrian & driver too, i know what is irritable.
but it seems...... when they drive and see a cyclist, they're thinking.. "wah i pay road tax one leh. this poor guy cycling! chibet!" -press horn-
But hey... I dun mind cycling myself... but recreational cycling on parks only..... I dare not cycle on the road... we have only 1 life.... you never know there could be 1 kayu driver who never see you on the road and that's it....
