I lost my bicycle

  Worth over $150, including lock and bell. I just bought it less than 2 weeks ago.

  Should I make a police report, even though it's useless?

  which constituency do you live in?

  i overheard from some grassroots fellas that there was a spate of bicycle theft in their constituency.. they have been on the lookout with the police..

  although the chance of ever seeing your bike again is minimal, it's best to make a police report... at least get the police to look out for the thieves...

  i have a feeling the bike will be resprayed and sold pretty quickly..

  I have lost like 3 bicycles before, whole bicycle including lock and chain. Reported all 3 incidence to the police, and so what? I don't think the police will bother to search for the bicycle since they are not high-end type.

  Plus, there is no way to identity the bicycle even if it is found. Even if you see a bungala riding your bicycle, anyway to prove that it is yours?

  Have checked with the police on engraving and registration service years ago and the ONLY station which provide this is in Pasir Ris (and surpisingly, most police officer don't even know there's such a service available when I check!).

  Unfortunately, I lived just too far from Pasir Ris to have my bicycle engraved. For those living nearby, you may want to try it (ONLY available on Sunday at certain times, and better check before going in case they stopped the service again due to low demand).

  You won't get your bike back for sure, not much point going to the police, although you think they might actually do something, deep down in your heart, you know they won;t.
