I've made some changes to the recipe. The original recipe calls for Hershey's caramel chocolate but I found them too sweet so I've substituted with Meiji's Melty Kiss instead. Also, I've used chunky peanut butter for extra crunch instead of the normal ones. I omitted using powdered sugar for dusting too but you can add these if you've a sweet tooth.
8 wonton wrappers
8 pcs of chocolates
Half a banana
Peanut butter (smooth or chunky)
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Bowl of water
Cooking oil
- Peel banana & cut into slices.
- Spread peanut butter on the center of the wonton skin & put a slice of banana on top.
- Place chocolate over it.
-
Wet the outline of the wonton skin with water (acts as glue) & seal the edges well. (If you're not going to fry the wontons immediately, cover with a damp cloth & refrigerate).
-
When oil is hot, deep-fry wontons till golden brown. Remove & place on paper towel to absorb excess oil. Dust powered sugar (optional) & you've got your Chocolate Wonton Kisses!
These special wontons were wrapped by my son, with extra ingredients & toppings (ice-cream sprinkles & cocoa powder). If you've kids, try it with them. They'll love it!
