You have to look deep in yourself what you look for in a mate. Is it his cuteness? His good looking face? His caring attitude? His quirky behaviour? Can he commit to this r/s with you all the way? Can he respect you as who you REALLY are and not just simply another girl? Can he love you unconditionally even if someday you may "leave" him?
Love is more of giving than receiving.
I quote an example: If a person loves someone and expect that someone to love the person back just as much. Isn't it the same as some dealing in products? You pay for a certain item and its not called "love". Its more of "selfishness in self".
I do not know what you have gone through or what you and your ex-BF did to warrant a break up. All I can tell, based on WHAT I READ, is that you two were NOT ready for commitment and you two fell in love based on the act of emotions at the moment. When emotions died down, what is there to keep fueling the relationship?
