The Atom was launched seeking new takers tired of the Xda II Mini...equipped with the same 416MHz processor as the mini coupled with 2.7 inch 262K QVGA screen just 0.1" shy of the mini.The speakers have been relocated to the front and the music experience have been enhanced with the Window Media Player and with O2 MediaPlus, a program help you navigate around pictures and videos.
The Wifi is stable but while looking for signals to connect it is a bit laggy and will sometime jam if u move around the program,u can either wait for it to be okay(take a few mins) or soft reset it and be patient.Photo quality is good but the camera operation is a bit slow.Tend to be a bit buggy if u switch the flash on(which is not effective for long range at night and in the day)Stylus a bit small but the silo is secure.HP have rebadged the Atom as it's iPaq hw6828 and attempted to solve the problems in the Atom such as lag encountered in the Wifi but ended up having unstable wifi operation and one user said that it cant even go to www.yahoo.com.sg.
The 6828 also have slightly less batt life than the Atom

As an owner of HP6828, I have encounted no issues with the device. In fact, most of the members of PPCSG.com has given good reviews.
In fact, when considering any device, you must look at the after sales service. So far, O2 has been severely lacking. I know cos I owned 2 O2 devices previously. Warranty support is very poor.
Whereas the support given by HP is nothing short of superb.
And that is the difference between outsourced servicing on a relatively smaller number of products out in the market, compared to an established brand in Singapore with the ability to provide quality service.
Have you ever seen one for one exchange given by Semitech? HP provides that. Dealing with electronic products is heng/suay, best to have good after sales service as insurance.
Besides, you do know both devices are OEM'ed by Quanta? Only diff software, which HP is releasing its 1st ROM update after just 1 month of introduction to market? -
