Whats the relationship between stretching and strengthening muscles?
A teacher said to me while i was stretching that my very very tight hamstrongs would get better if i streghten the muscles of the leg more. How true is this?
Tight muscles are often the overactive one, and they are often paired with another muscle group that are inhibited. Those are the ones that need to be strengthened, not the tight ones.
For example, people with tight hamstrings/hip flexors often have inhibited glutes. These are the ones that need to be activated.
