pcc also causes blindness...
i think the majority of people will be breathing while weightlifting, or else your face may go beet red, and not to mention performance will suffer

I hold my breath during the hardest part of the movement.

it isn't misleading...it is a fact.

Misleading. The valsalva method of holding your breath produces an intra-abdominal pressure that stabilizes your spine and locks it in a neutral position. When you start inhaling or exhaling in the middle of your lift, you lose this pressure, and your spine loses a source of support. When this happens, you risk a much higher chance of an orthopedic injury than a cerebrovascular injury from holding your breath. It's like saying you risk the chance of stragulation from putting on seatbelts so you don't put them...now what happens when you crash?
Bottom line...which one would you rather risk? A 1% chance of blindness or a 30% chance of back injury?
