Bro,I doubt the weight of your tire...I think more likely yours is 360kg or more instead!Originally posted by fishbuff:sorry man but i really doubt the weight of the tire.
during my practise for the 2006 strongman, we had this 260kg tire and NO ONE, not even the mighty Elvin can flip it for more than 4 times. Only Taufiq could flip only 6 times and took alot alot of effort.
I don't know what to say fishbuff. Maybe the treading was different, or the height, or the grip, or something. Or maybe practice makes perfect(and Ben has had quite a bit of practice). I don't think many people managed to flip it the first time they tried. The tire has been weighed and it is 247kg...Chaar has also mentioned that it's heavier than the 235kg tire used in this year's competition...besides 247kg isn't really that heavy. If you search youtube, there are people flipping tires that are more than twice as heavy as this...Originally posted by fishbuff:sorry man but i really doubt the weight of the tire.

Yeah, the first time I did tire flipping,I tried to lift the tire 6 times before it finally went up a few inches...Originally posted by galapogos:I don't think many people managed to flip it the first time they tried.
You excepted, can someone with a 60kg DL/squat try to flip the tire?Originally posted by galapogos:That's usually the case when you try to deadlift the thing up. I was lucky I knew I couldn't deadlift it up so I pushed against it as well, so up it went
when u mean 60kg, did u include the bar? Or do you mean 60kg each side without bar?Originally posted by Marco_Simone:You excepted, can someone with a 60kg DL/squat try to flip the tire?
when a weight is quoted it means net totalOriginally posted by eagle:when u mean 60kg, did u include the bar? Or do you mean 60kg each side without bar?
orh. me ard that excluding bar weightOriginally posted by Simon Dean:when a weight is quoted it means net total
Can, just look at meOriginally posted by Marco_Simone:You excepted, can someone with a 60kg DL/squat try to flip the tire?
Duh!Originally posted by galapogos:Can, just look at me
But ok lah, my "true" strength is about double of that...I'm only stuck at 60-70kg due to my injury...actually my front squats now are up to 80kg liao
then proceeds to prance around the room with it until OPT calls out to him and he drops in dumbbells in fearOriginally posted by galapogos:Haha, well...I haven't seen anyone other than me fit that criteria yet
Oh, maybe Lee? He isn't doing any deads now either. Injury too...then again, he picks up 50kg dumbbells from the floor like nothing...
what injury?Originally posted by galapogos:Can, just look at me

Btw,the mighty Elvin has never placed in the past 3 editions of the competitions?Originally posted by fishbuff:during my practise for the 2006 strongman, we had this 260kg tire and NO ONE, not even the mighty Elvin can flip it for more than 4 times. If i aint wrong he got top 3 for 2005 and 2006 but not this yearOriginally posted by Marco_Simone:Btw,the mighty Elvin has never placed in the past 3 editions of the competitions?
size is one thing but like this mechanic when my 400cc bike fell down, i tried to lift it back and had alot of difficulty. this small 1.6m skinny MY technician just flipped it up like that!Originally posted by Marco_Simone:The other time,Chaar was telling me that he was amongst the smallest guys in 2006...Yet he managed to kick all their asses! Indeed,he had an unassailable lead in terms of points and there is still one more event left!
u believe that?Originally posted by Marco_Simone:And there are people who don't DL who can flip the tire...
By the way,Chaar didnt train for years...At that point when he participated in Strongman 2006,his training age was around 1 year or so.
Well,that's what he told me...
First - I paid for the delivery of the tire and it was weighed at the pick up point at 247kg.Originally posted by fishbuff:i saw your video, marco. way too fast for a 250kg flip for your deadlift range.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYePUxZTSF4 here's my 260kg tire flip...
and i deadlift 220kg 1RM and 180kg for 10 reps. can u see how sluggish i tried to flip it for just 3 reps?
if everyone, including Keith, can flip 250kg to and fro like that, why did the Major of HometeamNS will replace it later with a 210kg one?
i had went thru the prelims for 2 years and i know. anyway, no point arguing. i just want to point out that the tire DOESNT weighs that much.
get Shaiful or Bonkfest to test it, they are experienced enough to tell the diff.
I got tell you my DL figures meh???Originally posted by fishbuff:i saw your video, marco. way too fast for a 250kg flip for your deadlift range.
