1) Provides a quick source of protein. Easily and quickly absorbed, highly digestible.
2) Right after workouts. Hardcores do take pre-workout shakes, and some consume it during workouts. Some also consume in the middle of the day if you are hardcore and bothers a lot about a constant supply of protein to your body.
3) See stickies
4) Excess protein may cause some stress on liver/kidneys. Our mod galapogos will prefer to call it extra activity. However, there's noh known problems on excess protein yet, unless you have weak liver/kidneys. Note: Excess protein is not equal to high protein diet.
Some say it causes constipation. Not sure true a not
Some say higher protein intake may cause the body calcium levels to fall, which is why some protein powders include calcium.
When your workouts are not tough enough, what will most likely happen to your consumed protein powder is just that it will become expensive urine (info from straits times)
Some think chocolate flavoured protein powders are a bit heaty and may thus cause pimples.
5) Same as 2)
6) 7) It is not a miracle product. It just makes access to protein (with minimal fats and carbs) much much more convenient. You still need a good workout.
