yea empty stomach will cause muscle to catabolise. esp in the morning, your blood sugar is low. thus your body need something to burn when u run. so your fats, and msucle will be the source of energyOriginally posted by JoBonez:i want to start going for runs to aid my fat loss. just going to aim for normal running for now, then maybe HITT sprints later when i am used to running.
what is required for warmup? stretching, walking? i dont want to endup with shin splints or other problems from running.
also can i run in early morning with an empty stomach, or will this cause muscle to catabolise?
That's a good question for TSOriginally posted by OPT:is your main goal to run or lose bodyfat?
lose bodyfat is my main goal, but humans were made to run also, why not learn to run as well? i dont think it should cause me any harm right?Originally posted by OPT:is your main goal to run or lose bodyfat?
so how would we go about getting fit to run? strengthening up first with weight training?Originally posted by OPT:I'm yet to see many people starting out who have the proper biomechanics.
You have to be fit to run, you don't run to get fit.
Try chomp down a bloody banana before the run, to metabolize the fats and muscles so early won't do so good for your blood sugar which may cause you to crash and burn before the run is complete.Originally posted by manyu882:yea empty stomach will cause muscle to catabolise. esp in the morning, your blood sugar is low. thus your body need something to burn when u run. so your fats, and msucle will be the source of energy
I would advise beginner runners to learn on the run how to jog-run so as to understand their bio-rythmn and pacing.Originally posted by OPT:I'm yet to see many people starting out who have the proper biomechanics.

NS guys are supposed to sing while running.Originally posted by AngZangGui:Should the mouth be opened when we run?
I was unprepared for NAPFA and my friends who ran 2.4 before me told me that it is better to keep the mouth closed when running so that the mouth don't feel so run before finishing the run. I used to run and used my mouth to breathe but always felt my mouth very dry after 4 rounds around the track.
maybe thats just to create unityOriginally posted by Xcert:NS guys are supposed to sing while running.
wat do U think?

I never really enjoy jogs... I feel neutral when jogging...Originally posted by sillyme:Most of all, learn to enjoy it
I don't really have an answer. I don't listen to music also.Originally posted by eagle:I never really enjoy jogs... I feel neutral when jogging...
Any suggestions to enjoy jogs? I jog for the sole main purpose of burning energy and scoring in IPPT, and I don't listen to music or radio...
