hey guys, i'm new here and i just started pumping iron about 1 or 2 months ago.
i realised that whenever i do squats, there is a tendency for my heel to lift off the ground when i'm returning to the standing position from the legs.
is this a problem izzit cause of wrong posture or sth?
im flat-footed btw.
ohyea, and i know that its important to keep yourselves well-hydrated.
but is there a diff it i take fruit juices, as in those packed ones like fruittreefresh and florida's natural instead of plain water?
thanks in advance for any advice!
I m flat footed too leh....
when I squat, I need to leave my back heels from the ground...
And balance my weight using my toes...
tat is y I hate to squat ....
You should always drive up from the center of your foot, or heel, never from your toes, and never lift off. This may be a sign of mobility/flexibility problems either at the ankle or at the hips.
As for drinks, stick to water and other 0 calorie drinks that are artificial sweetener free, i.e. water, unsweetened teas and coffees. Eat fruits instead of drinking fruit juices. They're much healthier.
I had that problem too. You just have to consciously try to keep your heel down.
