i have this rotator cuff injury for nearly 5 months and even with a 3 months complete rest, i can still feel the impingement in it.
now here in this aussie gym, there is this hammer strength bench machine that i got to use as i am constantly too lazy to do proper bench. with a free style, one arm machine bench with a lighter weight, my right RC impingment start to decease and now it is complete gone.
does this mean we have commit a gross mistake and under-estimate the weight machines?

The flat bench is different angle to the hammer strength machine - thus avoiding the possible irritated tissue - Incline bench could do the same thing.
The hammer strength may give you a short term solution but long term problems.
I think machines do have a very small place when you're injured. Mike Robertson himself used leg machines during his rehab period instead of squats. Of course, if you're a healthy injury-free individual, free weights with good form still beats machine any day.
Sorry but not impressed with anything Mike has ever put out
