If you've never done weight training in your life and are really weak, start with body weight exercises first - pushups, chinups, single leg squats/deads, etc. It'll improve your strength and conditioning so that you don't get an empty bar pinned down to your chest the first time you try to bench it.
I doubt anyone who has hardly exercise can do a single leg squat.
