  I have heard that when excessive HGH is taken, the intestines enlarge and protrudes the belly out.

  not completely true - the hGH can cause deformities in very high dosages but at these dosages there would be much discomfort especially hands and feet.
  
  The hGH will allow them to consume massive amounts of food without putting on fat - but it's more a combinations of drugs - steroids, insulin, hGH, IGF, MGF for very long periods of time.
