Not sure if i agree with that. Cuz according to my lecturers and gym instructor, it appears thatif you jog for >30 mins, your body will switch its energy source and will start mobilising fats as the source i.e. the first 30 mins, the source is sugars. For that reason, people are usually advised to jog/walk for >30 mins to lose weight.Originally posted by Simon Dean:I pass by setting the pace higher for every round.
Timing about 11.36
Anyway, i dont jog.Jogging makes you weaker, sets of hundred metre sprints are the way to go.Besides jogging puts your body in the survival mode and destroys your muscles and stores up fat.And your leg cant produce power when called to.

I dont know why they are still teaching gym instructors outdated litearature nowadays.Originally posted by Gachilles:Not sure if i agree with that. In addition, my bodybuilder friend jogs 4km/week - He says that slow job burns fat, but not muscles.
Maybe I'm wrong? LoL
That's what my GYM instructor says also...from those cheap cheap cannot make it gyms lah. Anyway, army also train like that mah. Previously my time if cannot run 2.4, then do many endurance runs like 4km, 5km, 10km, until can pass....Originally posted by Simon Dean:I dont know why they are still teaching gym instructors outdated litearature nowadays.

run at your sprinting pace at first till out of guess. By then u should be out of sight of other runners, and they'll have an impression you are a fast runner.
Then put on your rollerblades....
Busy is an understatement.... I don't how much you guys know about what I do and what I am involved with but OP gym is just the tip of the iceberg.Originally posted by Simon Dean:bodyweight calistenics
e.g
few pushups get up to your feet, then do a few deep leg squats.Do for like 2 mins. Then take a min break and keep doing in 2 min INTERVALS.How many you wanna/can do is subjective as i do not know your fitness level.
this is a principle that i copied from one of my moderator OPT(an olympic level strength and conditioning coach)
he can give better advice but he is so busy nowadays..
i tried this before and its good for fat loss.
I do like a 15 min round of that in the morning, noon and night.
u are lucky nth happen to u..Originally posted by hiphop2009:i used to hav pains in my stomach when i run (partly is because i dun excerise). so my fren told me this method:
pop two panadols inside ur mouth n drink red bull before the start of ur run. surprisingly, i managed to chiong and pass with 12 minute plus (eh, i dun exercise and i managed to pass). panadols is to stop the pain and red bull is for u to chiong.
BUT.
i am strongly AGAINST this method. u nvr noe wad is gonna happen. for me, nth happen, but pls dun try it~
yup..Originally posted by Kenashi:different ppl have different style, just becos jogging make u weaker doesn't meant that it don't work for others.
i used to do interval training all the time, my timing is usually 11 mins+
after i took up jogging, i improved my timing to 10 mins+ since it help build up my stamina n breathing technique

that's happen to me in the past, i always sprint, then walk for a min or two, then sprint again, but my timing just passed niaOriginally posted by SGpork:yup..
u can sprint for all i care...u better maintain n dont slow down on the 4th round or so if not...i still can catch up
putting weight on yr leg is gd for building muscle, once u get used to the weight n train with it for 3 mths, u find yrself running faster n w/o problem after u take them off.Originally posted by SGpork:actually its not very advisable to put any weight on u when u run or jog..
the lighest the better..
when u run or jog ..whatever..
ur legs are actually..already carrying ur body weight..if u add anything more..
ur actually...hurting urself more..
n once ur leg or knee screw up...
u wont like it
