Partly so for fitness, but the main reason why I get motivated and keep going back to the gym is because I want those people in the past who has mocked at me and looked down upon me to kind of take back the words that they said...last time they also outcast me because of my size and said that I can't play for the class soccer team because i am too skinny.Originally posted by the.owl:lol, shouldnt u do it for fitness and not for showing off
It is being hurt psychologically that motivates you.Originally posted by JuanRomanRiquelme:Partly so for fitness, but the main reason why I get motivated and keep going back to the gym is because I want those people in the past who has mocked at me and looked down upon me to kind of take back the words that they said...last time they also outcast me because of my size and said that I can't play for the class soccer team because i am too skinny.
Lol...I have to start training for my pull-ups and ippt soon, especially since I have lost much form after I orded earlier this year...Originally posted by Aveme:Cos some recent incident made me realised how much i had let my physcial fitness and body condition detoriate for close to a decade and i cannot let it continue on if not i am sure to get some serious illness soon.
Having to go for my ATEC outfield evaluation next year is also another factor,i have told myself to at least train myself back to having gold standard for my IPPT,well doing pretty well, from failing IPPT just 1 month+ ago to having silver standard now,the improving results is another motivating factor.
Well, im a very typical cancerian actually...i do forgive what people have done in the past, but I will kinda never forget...Somehow i like this feeling of motivation, I use it when I am studying too as a tool of motivation...Originally posted by M©+square:It is being hurt psychologically that motivates you.
Not healthy, to have strong and nice body. But unable to forgive those people who mocked you. It's the past.
Take care of your body, also take heart of the things in the past.
Cheers
Cause this is a revenge kind of mentality.... not very healthyOriginally posted by JuanRomanRiquelme:Well, im a very typical cancerian actually...i do forgive what people have done in the past, but I will kinda never forget...Somehow i like this feeling of motivation, I use it when I am studying too as a tool of motivation...

AND NOW IS TO BUILD A NICE BODYOriginally posted by Bontakun:Well... JRR, the "best" way to get back at those who mocked you is to ignore them and live a happy life. Going to gym is just to train muscles and show off muscles and bio char bors.
I used to go gym coz I was skinny, I like to show off muscles when they developed and I wanna bio char bors.
Now no $$$ to go gym.
When I see guys working out for cosmetic reasons, I see vanity exposing them in the worst way, as cartoon characters, billboards for imbalance and insecurity. Strength reveals itself through character. It is the difference between bouncers who get off strong-arming people and Mr.Pepperman.Originally posted by Bontakun:Going to gym is just to train muscles and show off muscles and bio char bors.

I am one of those pals who tries to introducing gyming to my friends, instead of gaming. Personally, i think that going to gym as a recreation is more beneficial on the whole rather than gaming...can build up hot bod la, can attract more girls, can build up self-confidence, can be fit n healthy at the same time without spoiling your eyesights by gaming etc...Originally posted by forum_dude:GO THE CLUBFIT GYM LA, NOT SO EXPENSIVE OSO. Peak hours are the worst period to be in the gym...normally I will go during the afternoon where there are fewer people, or late at night around 9-10pm when everybody has gone home from their workouts. I agree that during peak periods, the crowd over there can really make working out a totally unpleasant experience.Originally posted by ShrodingersCat:-whispers-
I used to really hate the gym. I felt it was full of narcissic, self absorbed people, and the machines there intimidate me. Its expensive, and Maybe previously I always went during peak hours.. so... claustrophobic etc.
But after being unwell for a few months where my physical activities almost completely stop, and then the haze came, I decided to accompany my colleague to the gym. And... wow.. I really enjoyed it this time around.
Felt it was an enjoyable, weather proof way of working up a sweat, and with an mp3 player I never felt jogging was so ... painless before.
Mmmm. and the automatic heart rate thingy is so cool.
Yeah but previously i was going after work.. which is.. well.. peak hour.. 9-10 pm very late leh... but now I go in the afternoon it is very pleasant.Originally posted by JuanRomanRiquelme:Peak hours are the worst period to be in the gym...normally I will go during the afternoon where there are fewer people, or late at night around 9-10pm when everybody has gone home from their workouts. Muscle mass does not always equal strength. Strength is kindness and sensitivity.

Quite true....but most of the time, i think nice body may mean that the person is strong too, because he would have worked out alot with heavier weights to get the desired results...though may not be true all the time i think...Originally posted by donotclose:different ppl got different style of training..
for mi, i would prefer to have a nicer body than going for strength
when u go beach, people can only see ur body but not ur strength
in a bodybuilding comp, the nicest body wins.
maybe ur perspective of training is different. but not everybody wants to go for strength.
