Attire at Wedding Dinners

  Say Wedding Dinner at a 5-star hotel.
  
  Guys: Some come in polo T and jeans. Some in short sleeve and jeans. Some come in long sleeve and pants. Some with a tie. Some with coat.
  
  Gals: Usually, they take this opportunity to dress up glamorously, so no issue.
  
  What is a respectable attire for guys?
  
  What do YOU wear when u go 4 a wedding dinner?
  
  How will you feel if your guests turns up at YOUR wedding dinner in Polo T and Jeans?

  dress, usually black
  heels or boots
  will bring a shawl, in case cold

  Weddings are afterall formal affairs, so I would prefer guests to turn up in a decent shirt and pants. NOT JEANS and POLO Tees.

  for 5 stars hotel..
  
  tink the min attire for guys are long sleeves shirts + jeans..
  
  else will be long sleeve shirt & pants..
  
  tie not necessary unless u are very close to the bride or groom

  but at least wear a collared shirt (short-sleeve oso can)

  i personally dun tink guys shld wear jeans to wedding dinners...at least a long-sleeved shirt n pants plus leather shoes...nt all gals dress well for weddings...i have met gals who came in simple blouses n jeans wif no make-up...
  
  the bottomline is the guys shld nvr look betta than the groom n the gals shld nt look betta than the bride...

  I mean the bochap type of dressing in jeans. Not the nowadays common kind of jeans with long sleeve shirt and canvas shoes.
  
  Anyway, I think they so so only ... very cool meh??
  
  And dun get me started on the hairstyle. One guy with those Jap/Korean hairstyle may be cool. Imagine one bunch of ah bengs all with similar hairstyles in polo and jeans, squatting at bugis junction fountain.
  
  Reminds me of the ah bengs who wear blurberry shirt and black armani jeans wiith bata canvas school shoes of the 80s-90s. My friends use to say they spend all on the shirt and jeans liao, no money buy shoe....

  ya.. jeans & shirts + leather shoes are smart casual attire... so is appropriate.
  
  but of cos wear a better pair of jeans...

  Jeans are out, at the most, a pair of khaki pants with a shirt, either s/l sleeves.
