I saw some bowlers play spinner with straight wrist position & some bowlers with break wrist position... Also some bowlers playing back-up spinner & some playing straight spinner...
Just to ask any moderator of this Singapore Bowling forum, does it make any differences for bowlers playing spinner???
Hi Leon, Your question kind of vague here.
You ask ........Does it make any differences for bowlers playing spinner???
What are you comparing with? or you are asking various spinning techniques applied by spinners and thier differences?
Well, there would be, otherwise there would not be the variations..... right?
As to which is better, its really up to individual's application of the techniques, practice makes a person's more confident with his skills and knowldege over a period of time.
I can only say a good spinner does have a distinctive characteristic style of his own, and he keep practising it until it reaches a level where he/she evolves into his/her trademark, only he knows why he do it that way, and that should be the reason why there are some differences when you examine different spinners bowlers.
Cheers
I get your meaning already... Forgot of that word "spinning techniques" applied by spinner bowlers with straight wrist & break wrist... Also i've seen spinner bowlers wearing wrist band...
It is rather awkward for a spinner to wear a wrist guard, its more of an obstruction than an assistance.
I think he/she is just being curious and trying to try out different ways and method, part of a learning process, i did that too..... : )
How about you? care to share abit on your bowling?
Sports wristband is still consider ok ok for straight bowler & spinner but not the wristguard...
Me, started bowling since age 10 or 11... Use to wear sports wristband almost at all times play bowling... Usually, most of the straight bowlers & spinner use free hand, never wear any sports wristband & wristgurard...
Use to play straight ball at the beginner... Then started out play spinner, thought by my few uncles... All of my uncles have totally different techique of teaching spinner... Sometimes can spin well, sometimes cannot spin well depening of my mood & energy...
I use to represent ITE in any of the tournaments like IVP where top 10 ITE students (8 bowlers & 2 reserves) battle with all diploma students & degrees students... That's all i can say...
