my bowling style

there's something wrong with the interval between 5th and 6th step i think. can help me analyze whats wrong with my style? i know theres smth wrong but i duno what it is. issit my footwork too fast or my hand too slow?cuz i late timing... thanks.

maybe u can try reduce the "pause" at ur last step..

Had seen your clips .....my thoughts is same as samchia...
at your 5th n 6th step upon delivery the ball...somehow..there is a break in secs...somehow..the release is not follow thru e.g perpendiclar swing...
I am new to bowling sori cant advise much...but i like the style u bowl.

different bowlers do have diff thoughts...
i feel footwork fast or hand slow (timing) is all depends on how comfortable u are as long u have a natural, pendulum swing...if both can co-ordinate well..To me i dun find this is a problem..
once if have an understanding of the rhythm of own swing, "timing" is a matter of synchronise the pace of footwork of your swing.

Wah, thanks to you tube, technology is definately catching up with time, now can post video clip to seek help, compared to few years back, all thru words.
BTW, 1 video shot can tell everything loh, improving in bowling msut be taken in progression steps.
Below's my humble observation on yr play.
1. You took 6 steps for yr delivery, 1 + 2 is dummy steps, try to correct that to either 4 or 5 steps, which is more efficient and easier for others to coach.
2. From what I see, U are quite a distant away from the foul line(1-3 feet?), that could be the reason casuing youy delay in yr delivery, u may wanna try to finish yr shot as close to the foul line as possible.
3. Think of a smooth and continuous folw of movement in yr swing, that "pause" of your current style will costs you lots of inconsistency, if it has already becomes a habbit, try ask yrself why do you post this mssg?
Lastly, the best way to improve is to learn from a bowling coach. He can correct you better.
In bowling or in life, its will always be our attitude that make a difference, if we are always humblle and be willing to listen, observes, learn, explore and try, anything is possible.

i do have a coach, a school coach. he recommends me to stay with 6 steps, but he says i "grip" the ball with my thumb while bringing the ball down. can that be the cause? i wont have any coaching till jan '08

While your coach may suggest you to stay with 6 steps, questions is, have you try out all other steps....
My past experience tells me its not harm trying, hence i experiment with 4 & 5 steps, my discovery was, it was very awkward in the begginnig, but there's lot of differernce between the 2, and once get the hang of it on each, it not that difficult afterall.
Also at the same time experiment with different speed.
Evantually,
> Established better understanding of rhythem of different steps.
> Can apply either steps depending on lane condition
- Slow/Dry lane condition adopt 5 steps to gain more speed
- Fast/Oily lane condition adopt 4 steps to have more stabilty/accuracy
In another words, can be more versatile and have more options to deal with various lane/approach conditions
