To boost the iconic design profile of one of its leading cigarette brands, BAT International has unveiled an
18ct white gold pack of Lucky Strike for display at major airports throughout 2006.
The one-off pack, studded with a single large diamond and a ruby, is valued at an estimated
US$100,000. It will be touring major international airports throughout the year, including Frankfurt in September, Düsseldorf in November and Munich in December.
“Lucky Strike's iconic logo has always been an inspiration for artists and designers from Raymond Loewy, who recreated the bull's eye as we know it today, to others such as Keith Haring, Richard Blake, Stuart Davies and Mel Ramos,” BAT International said.
A series of limited-edition packs based on the design will be launched for exclusive sale at selected European airports.
The 18ct white gold pack was created by Spanish design duo El Ultimo Grito and goldsmiths Richard Fox Associates.
