A problem is given to you to solve, which is related to your course. Give me some time to think of an example to show you.
Here's the link to show you how we work:
http://www.geocities.com/ahlm88After you read the problem, you will list out what you know, what you don't know and what you need to find out. This lasts for about 15 minutes and the teacher (formal: facilitator) will discuss it with the class. You will then go for a half hour break.
After this break, you will do your worksheet, research and powerpoint. The teacher will also be in the room to help you out by giving out hints. At around 11.30am (latest by 12pm), the teacher will leave and you will be on your own. This stage is called second meeting by us.
From 11.30am to 2pm, you will continue what you are doing in the second meeting, with lunch in between. Third meeting will start at 2pm or latest by 2.30pm. During this meeting, you will be presenting your findings to the class and questions will be asked to test your understanding (by your classmates as well as the teacher). The meeting will end with the teacher presenting. This is usually called 6P by the teachers.
After the third meeting, you will do a short quiz (15 to 30 minutes), an evaluation and a reflection journal. A reflection journal usually will ask you to reflect on what you have learnt or some funny questions to relieve stress.
Note: We work in teams, not individually.
