Does music videos have anything to do with music at all?

  or are they just visuals?
  
  personally i think some music videos have more to do with the imagery of the song and the music, bringing out the visual and imagination of the song.
  
  Of cos there are really bad MVs but those MVs that are well done or those that goes along with the lyrics in the song really bring the song to life and let u into the world of the song as the song wants u too.
  
  I mean sometimes when u listen to a song, it makes u imagine, have a imagery of the song and that's what makes songs good i think. It sets u into a certain mood and gets u lost in the song for a moment or two. I think music videos add to this or at least helps those who doesn't have a very vivid imagination turn a song into a moving image of it.

  hey... for some, it's an extension of their music. so yes..
  
  but for some, it's just a marketing thing
