The MDA may soon be able to independently fine arts groups for arts entertainments breaches.
It is proposing to amend the Public Entertainments and Meetings Act to allow it powers of investigation in such breaches and impose composition fines outside of court prosecutions.
Presently, the MDA has to report such violations to the police for investigation.
Amongst other proposals put up by the MDA is a new Term Licensing Scheme, which will allow arts groups to classify their own performances, and stage multiple performances within a licensed period.
