Good LOL, Marine Parade is almost directly south of Bedok, it would ruined the purpose of the ERL to curve to Bedok before curving back to East Coast instead of serving Marina Parade. It is supposedly suppose to be an "EXPRESS" Line to the City (Direct Route) and serving the East coast and marina parade area.

Late grats and maybe its because of the soft soil in Marina Bay since it is reclaimed land. They don't want another "Nicoll Highway" incident agian right?

The soil in Marina Bay is very soft and would take some time for the tunnels to be constructed in the soft soil.

ERL construction is even more epic, tunnel under the seabed, tunnel near MCE, near Marina Barrage, deal with soft soil, Marine Parade is very narrow.
