  Andy Johnson has told Crystal Palace boss Iain Dowie that he wants to leave the club, says the Daily Mirror. The England striker left Dowie 'in no doubt about his feelings' at showdown talks, apparently, and could force Palace to sell. Tottenham are said to have had one £5m bid turned down but could be back along with Everton, Newcastle and Liverpool.

  Johnson was targeted by Birmingham earlier this year. This prompted Simon Jordan to launch a tirade against Brum's CEO Karen Brady. A writ of defamation has been filed against the Eagles' president as a result.
