You went to NZ right? So did you take the IELTS test? That's the one that my students take. -

I think , its thier ability to reason. Most of them ppl know , its just that they dont know how to do it in writing. So what u should do is get more related materials n give it to them , or u create topics that are around that range of topics n improve them from there. Sometimes simple stories or articles can help them. -

i am able to get them to score quite high for the reading and listening part, most of them always get above 6.5/9 for these two. It is the writing and speaking parts which give me headache. For the speaking is, they panic when they started to talk to the examiner. But when they are talking to me they are perfectly fine and fluent. So I thought they would do well but on the day of the exam they just screwed up everything. then in the end I would get the blame, even if I told them 1000 times not to be nervous during the exam... -
The IELTS now should be same as 1998 right ?or is it different.
Or is it harder nowadays. Should be standardised ah -
i know this student is very messy when it comes to writing. I have told him many times to paragraph his ideas properly and all that but until the last lesson he is still struggling with that. And also bad grammar and sentence structure. During ur mock exams , do u get other lecturers to sit in to listen to them ? or get other ppls to trial them ? This is up to them liaw ah.. especially in your case , tell them if they do not stay calm , they will DEFINATELY NOT get good results. Its like music exams also... when u see the ang mo examiner.. i get the cold hands , the sweaty palms.. LOL!

Well, nothnig much u can do ah. Some students just do not excel in writing... cant blame them. If you know that you're doing something right, then continue doing it the right way. Those supervisors of yours have sacrificed education in the name of $$$$. If they want to say that it is your problem, then let them say so. If you know that you've been teaching well, then continue teaching well. If your students don't want to put in the effort or get super nervous, then that's not your problem at all.
If your supervisors can't seem to understand that you are not responsible for irresponsible students, then I say that they are irresponsible supervisors.
And as I've said before, never let irresponsible people make you feel responsible for their actions. -

u know how i studied for my IELTS ? my english sucked @ss nuts. chinese school arrive in foreign land. I watched american TV. LOL! read star wars books. hang out with ang moh ppl to teach me thier english. n also read lots of history books. i dunno why but i find them easier to read. n WALA.. hahaha.. i passed after about few months -

I remember last time used to teach this young naught little punk @ss kid. Who just have NO musical talents , cant even get the right pitch , the mum kept on bombing me why i do not allow his son to take the royal exam. In the end man , i just say... for him to even pass , n since he has no talent.. n if he really wants to do it.. he's gotta practice REAAAAAAAL hard.. but that kid real spoil one la.. but i'm not complaining, its 90 bucks an hour.

i got loong holiday. Boss wants me take 10 days off . So after my convention in KL in July , i going to Genting , then SG.. then maybe Bali if got time... mmm...~~

phew just found out my student's result not dat bad, the university he applying to quite slack, they only wan an overall band of 5.5. And since he got 6, he is saved -

You really have to work on this if you plan to become a primary school teacher in the future.
If a few irresponsible adults can make you feel guilty for their actions, then a class of 40 kids is gonna be pure hell.
And that is if you're only teaching one class... more likely, you'll be teaching two or three classes. -
