The search directory of NLB is never updated. You will never find the books in wherever library it says.
You might want to try National Library Basement 1, or the new Bishan Library. Jurong East or Woodlands or Toa Payoh Library might have the books, they are pretty huge and have a decent collection.
By the way, National Library got guards. Make sure there's no metal in your bags or pockets or it triggers those detectors. -

Woodlands Library is at Civil Centre (correct name ?). It's just behind Causeway Point.
Bishan Library... alight at Bishan MRT station, walk all the way till you see the Play! machine then turn the corner and cross the road. The library is there.
Jurong East library... can't remember the exact directions, but just walk as per usual to the entertainment centre (where the ice skating ring is), then there are signs that will point how to go to the library.
Toa Payoh library... I don't know to say... I only know how to walk there nia... but on the way, will pass by Old Chang Kee. Then will walk past some shops and see a red building, that's the library. -

i tink i mite have been to the toa payoh library before oledi, but not sure. Usually we will go to the AMK library hehe -
