Anyway, let's see....
Complex roots are introduced when some polynomial equations cannot have real roots. For example, the quadratic equation's determinant b^2 - 4ac < 0 --> No real roots.
Therefore, a new notation needs to be introduced so as to allow these type of polynomial equations to be solved, which result in the complex field and thus complex roots. The basic definition is i^2 = - 1.
