Travel tips to Rome/Switzerland?

Hey guys! Intending to travel to Rome/Switzerland to view their sights and sounds...any tips for the places to go? Like landmarks...

Would a railpass work for Italy-Switzerland? -
Italy - Florence, Rome, Vatican City. These three confirm must go.
Visit St.Peter's Square during the weekdays and marvel at the size.
If u have the time, take a train to Modena and visit the Ferrari museum...
I don't know about rail passes, but I thought Eurail is EU-wide?

And the problem with the Eurail pass is that u have to calculate the trip and train rides u intend to have. Moreover, there's the time problem. Tsk.
I think I am gonna settle on a simple bus/air ride to Rome. Sighs. -

There are different types of rail passes. For EU pass, you can just buy a 3-country pass (min is 3) if you plan to visit 2 countries only. Minimum 5 trips. Furthermore, if your train goes past any other country, you are supposed to have a ticket to pass through (pay extra), or have listed that country in your rail pass (you got 1 free slot if you only travel 2 countries)Originally posted by deathscythe99:Hey guys!
