round 1A starts today.
haven't start bidding yet because i cant get into the CORS website. my computer's internet seems to be experiencing some problems today. am a year 1 student currently, so im protected for nthis upcoming sem (sem 2). i got a friend who told me that we'll be protected in sem 3 though, is it true? -
Nope. Once you're in Yr 2, you're no longer protected.
*wondering which Science GEM to go for this semester*

CORS is definitely accessible.
If you mean Sem 3 in the Special Term, then yes, I think you are still protected. But as said, you go Year 2, there will be new Year 1s, and hence protection goes to them, not you.
How to spend almost 3,000 pts in Programme and 2,000 pts in General after I graduate ah? -

okays serious i need help! heres my situation.. i really wanna take pc1432 (its a breath module.. not preallocated to mech eng students so we gotta bid for it ourselves) next sem but all my friends are bidding for FNA in order because they wanna fulfill their sartor module.. but i dont wanna take FNA the next sem!... maybe later..
coolmyth u mentioned that there was this special sem in year 2 that we're protected... so we'll be competing with fellow year 2s? care to tell me more abt it sem? cos if it is so i'll prob bid for the fna module during that sem..

oh btw, for status pc1432, the lowest bid now is 1, and the highest bid is 1500+.. currently only 40 people bidded and there are 100 vacancies. most probably i'll get the module la.. -
papercut: Special semester refers to the 3-month break. In this break, you can choose to go back to school to take some modules (SS, GEM, etc). Two catches, though:
1. You are not protected during the bidding process.
2. You must pay extra to take modules over the break. Something like $500-$700 per module.
They will send you an email detailing the special semester sometime in the next semester.
Another thing.... I would have thought that PC1432 is pre-allocated to all Yr 1 Engin students. At least, that was the case in my time 1 1/2 years ago.
Change in system, I guess. -

As long as u bid within rd 1, shld be cfm get.
If u never get PC1432, go ka jiao that Engine Admin.
Try to take ur SARTOR earlier else u might have trouble fitting timetables when ur core mods become something like 4 to 5 a semester.

As for the other SARTOR mod, I took Management and Organization some time back. The lecturer was a total slacker then. It was really a no-brainer module for my batch.
Not sure about now, though - I think they've changed the lecturer. -

hmmz orientation also seems to be prime harvest ground for life partners, pity didn't happen to me

I'd like to ask you guys....
I've applied for ME3102 in Round 1A. The lecturer for this module has stated that there's only one lecture in this module, and that we can apply for other modules whose lectures clash with its lecture timeslot.
However, CORS is barring me from applying for another module (ME4212) whose lecture clashes with the ME3102 lecture.
Any ideas on how to resolve this? Do I have to ask the ME4212 lecturer to include me in manually? -

There's no one in the ME dept to take my call today... they work on a five-day workweek.
So I shot an email off the ME3102 lecturer and demanded that he do something about it.
Looks like I'll also have to wait till Tuesday to call the ME dept. -

2 x ME Core modules (Engin Prof, Design project)
1 x Aero technical elective (Compressible Flow)
1 x SARTOR (Principles of Econs)
2 x Science GEM (Understanding the Universe, Comp Methods for Basic Finance)
I only have the ME core mods and the TE confirmed - I'm bidding for the other three modules in this round.
What about you guys? -
