Well, no thanks to NUSSU who's as effective as toilet paper on a rainy day.Originally posted by fudgester:I will be very pissed off if they do pull off another one of these hikes, but I won't be surprised at all, either. There's nothing more they can do to surprise me.
I can still remember a time when I was actually proud to be an undergraduate of NUS.
Right now I just want to get my B.Eng (Mechanical) and buzz off from that place.
I thought yours shall be okay mah, right? Fees are backdated, no?Originally posted by LazerLordz:Yea..lucky you.![]()
Same here. Nothing much to remember.Originally posted by fudgester:I will be very pissed off if they do pull off another one of these hikes, but I won't be surprised at all, either. There's nothing more they can do to surprise me.

Backdate my ass. The last fee increment affected me as well.Originally posted by CoolMyth:I thought yours shall be okay mah, right? Fees are backdated, no?
I forgot which year I was when I heard of a rise but all my fees are a-ok.
God bless the MIW who thought of backdating the fees. If they act blur and pretend they didn't see, we kbkp also no use.![]()
NUSSU is just for people who want to gain ECA points to join...Originally posted by LazerLordz:Well, no thanks to NUSSU who's as effective as toilet paper on a rainy day.
Well, to be fair to NUSSU, they were also kept completely in the dark over the last round of tuition fee hikes. The beef that I have with NUSSU is that they seriously lack the teeth when it comes to taking the administration to task for leaving the student body out of the discussion process.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Well, no thanks to NUSSU who's as effective as toilet paper on a rainy day.
Precisely. What good is a SU that does nothing, is ineffective at saying NO when it matters, and only good at organising bazaars, giving out free snacks and generally not being in the limelight.Originally posted by laurence82:actually, who is inside the SU?
students themselves right?
I still have people who THINK that NUSSU are doing a lot of stuff for them...but seriously other than the bazaars and the events they organise, do they do anything for the STUDENTS???Originally posted by LazerLordz:Well, no thanks to NUSSU who's as effective as toilet paper on a rainy day.
I was fair to them last semester. This sem, they had advance warning.Originally posted by fudgester:Well, to be fair to NUSSU, they were also kept completely in the dark over the last round of tuition fee hikes. The administration may cite increasing operating costs when it comes to explaining the increase in tuition fees. Well, I'm not surprised - I suppose that widescreen LCD/plasma TV (not sure exactly what type) at the clinic at YIH sure adds a bundle to the operating costs.![]()
You sure? I've been subjected to TWO tuition fee increments in my 2 1/2 years at NUS!Originally posted by CoolMyth:I thought yours shall be okay mah, right? Fees are backdated, no?

If you don't start to take ownership, one day you will regret it.Originally posted by foxwalk:NUSSU is just for people who want to gain ECA points to join...
If in society the citizens have no power, how can some bunch of students have real power?
