Collation, Comprehension, Creation.
Something I thought of a few days back.
Collation:
Gathering of information from all sources, platforms and channels. This would also include sorting and sifting through data that you need for a specific task.Small, seemingly unrelated bits of information can be aggregated here to form a larger picture that becomes vastly more important than in parts.
Comprehension:
Taking whatever has been collated and understanding its implications. Information induces reaction, and you have to learn to manage it. E.g four articles with different views based on the ideologies of their writers; on a particular local conflict happening in the Middle East. What conclusions can you draw? How do you take these different conclusions and arrange them into a cohesive argument/theory.
Creation:
Having understood the information that is aggregated, what do you create as a solution or reaction to it? This involves a system that takes in your comprehension and outputs something new, be it in a dissimilar or similar field. The media and public agencies work in this fashion too. Why are polls and surveys conducted? To create spin and introduce policies that pre-empt a potential sticky situation or manage criticism and uproar.Again, like in Collation, every little nugget is important.

Maybe anyone can add on it, or we can just discuss if these are valid to your specific circumstances..because I think these 3 Cs are quite beneficial to have today.. -

they're important skills that we use everyday and subjects like history help us hone these skills though i think its rather deliberate to have to come up with a whole syllabus to test and help us practice these skills.
sorry i cant think of anything to build on. shall come back again when i get some ideas
