Slackers' Night

I normally reserve Friday night as my Slackers' Night. Where I spend all the other nights revising and giving tuition, on Friday night I do anything except study.
I play games, chit-chat on MSN and sgforums, and do all manner of non-study related things till the wee hours of the morning.
At the very most I simply do admin work (eg. settling project meetings, confirming schedules, etc...)
Do you guys practise something similar?

well, it used to be worse, lets see, back in 3rd sem, when i have to finish projects after projects
i swear, there was never a day break till exams was over

One of them's my engineering design module. My team has to design a sports wheelchair specifically for tennis. It's gonna be a lot of hard work - it spans over two semesters.
But I'm sure it'll be mighty interesting.
There's one potential problem I can forsee though - there are a total of nine people in my team (seven from ME, two from SDE). With a team that size, the Theory of Diminishing Returns is likely to rear its ugly head.

i believe in the Law of Diminishing Returns, no matter what the module requirements are
I had some lecturers who told us six people are good for supposedly complex projects we are handling, but i tell ya, with the exception of one project, none of my projects with six group members ever go well -

How do you make a wheelchair that can sprint quickly and not topple over?
Hope you are a good project manager.. motivate everyone to put in their fair bit.. -

Strangely, in my groups or other groups within my course, there is no 'team leader'. Groups that did well, know how to use their group members' strength. Everyone's a leader in a field, like one person researches, one person analyses etc.
Groups that dont do well, tend to mull too much over the technical requirements than the quality of their content, and tend to be superbly competitive and have this kind of blaming attitude, even if they are subtle. -

Still, I'm the team's treasurer. Basically I manage the funds of the team and make sure we don't overspend (our budget's $1500 thanks to NUS).
Well, there are plenty of sports wheelchairs on the market. Different sports have different wheelchairs - tennis wheelchairs require greater stability, for instance, while basketball wheelchairs require greater impact protection.
I've even seen a wheelchair with caterpillar treads which can go up stairs. Think of a wheelchair frame on tank treads.

Seriously, I salute these guys who don't treat their physical disabilities as a true disability.
