There is 1 NUS student blog criticising..
"We still have 3rd world bus sv 151 when it is claimed to be a 1st world university... And they still want to increase tuition fee"

Hmm...
Too much stuff on the fee hike
And besides, it really is a wonder why they are increasing fees when everything else seems to just NOT benefit the students

since when did fee hike anywhere in singapore ever benefit us?
They just wanna squeeze more of the middle income families. Geez.Originally posted by fudgester:In the decision to raise the tuition fees, all factors are considered except for one: the students.
Yes, I agree that there will be more financial help for the needy students, but it won't do anything for the students from middle-income families who still struggle to pay for them anyway.
And if they had really cared about the students, the very least they could have done was to consult NUSSU in the discussions to raise the fees. This is something that directly involves the students, and they don't even bother consulting the students.
And don't tell me that this was due to an 'oversight', either. An oversight is leaving your handphone at home. An oversight is forgetting to bring your lecture notes. An oversight is not increasing the tuition fees for the second year in a row without so much as consulting the students before.
